Amelie, who is on the Hong Kong gymnastics team, trained with Nelson Bay’s local gymnastic squad and Tanya Lemcke of TPT Centre during the September school holidays.

It is her second visit to train at the Bay, after she had success after a previous training session last year.

On Amelie’s return to school in Hong Kong she will be competing in Manila in the next few weeks.

Tanya Lemcke of TPT Centre told News Of The Area, “It was a great opportunity for Amya to train with such a strong gymnastics athlete.”

She believes that when young people train together in a nurturing environment that they can achieve great outcomes.
“Amelie is a wonderful role model for other young gymnasts.”

Tanya is a Gymnastics Australia Judge and works on a range of competitions.

She recently judged at the NSW Country Championship Gymnastics event and also judges in the Combined High Schools Competitions.

“We are currently delivering gymnastics programs under the NDIS and for special needs children in the Port Stephens region and some of the results that these children are achieving are wonderful,” she said.
