ON a picture perfect day recently, over ninety excited Probians travelled via The Spirit of Port Stephens across the sparkling waters of the bay to Soldiers Point to celebrate President Neryl Grehan’s Last Hurrah over a sumptuous lunch at The Point Restaurant.

Neryl had served on the committee as the Social Director followed by Vice-President and President and whilst she is still on the Committee, Neryl can now relax in her role as the club’s Past President.

Probus Club of Hawks Nest & District’s, Social Director – Peter Cameron organized the trip taking into account every minor detail throughout the day with the boat leaving the ferry wharf in Tea Gardens at 10.30am to arrive back to the wharf at 4.30pm.

On another note, the club held its Annual General Meeting and Changeover Lunch on Friday 2 March with Returning Officer, Ray Hosking, announcing the new 2018/2019 committee who will serve a total of 180 members who belong to one of the best and pro-active clubs in the area.

Elected President, Des Patfield, introduced the Management Committee who will work cohesively with the Executive, both ensuring that The Probus Club of Hawks Nest & District is run on the ethos of Fellowship, Friendship and Fun providing its members with a genre of activities ranging from trips, theatre, races, ten pin bowling, snooker, croquet and harbour cruises.
