For those who were unable to see the film when it was showing on limited release, there is a second opportunity to view it.

The Raymond Terrace and District Historical Society together with the King Street Group are hosting a viewing at Scotty’s Cinema, Raymond Terrace on Sunday 7 April at 2.00pm.

This is part of their endeavours to bring history to the community.

Ms Kaye Newton from the Society told News Of The Area, “This is an interesting film that has used hundreds of hours of silent movies, audio interviews, and many photographs to piece together a history of World War One.”

“Using resources held by the British War Museum, Peter Jackson used the words of the soldiers themselves.”

“Their experiences have been brought to life for another generation to experience.”

“Tickets will be $15 per person and as the Society is using this as a fundraiser, tickets need to be pre-bought by 27 March,” she said.

Bookings can be made online at www.trybooking.com/480545 or you can pay cash at the Society’s research rooms which are behind the Raymond Terrace Library on Mondays or Wednesdays from 9.30 am to 2.00pm.

After the film, audience members will be invited to join the Society for coffee at the Scotty’s Cinema café.
