Also in the future pipeline is a social enterprise café where the students will run their own café at Tomaree High School.
Anyone can nominate a student to attend a Real Futures training program.

In conjunction with the Year Advisor, the students who are deemed most likely to get the best from attending will be selected.

Students may attend Tomaree College for 25 hours per week and 12 hours within a workplace.

“We choose the best student to make the biggest difference,” Mrs Sampson told News Of The Area.
Cassey Sheather is one such student who is nearing the completion of the Hospitality program.

She recently took out third place in the Hunter TAFE Network Apprentice Chef Culinary competition.

Cassey said, “When third place was called, I looked around thinking there must be another Cassey in the room.”

Judy Rickard, Food and Beverage Director, Horizons Golf Club said, “Cassey has blossomed into an amazing apprentice chef and is perfectly suited to this vocation.”

The presentation event for Real Futures participants will be held on 10 November, Horizons Golf Club.

Mrs Sampson said, “On behalf of Real Futures and the students, I would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and supporters as without them we could not run the programs that we do.”
