The Rotary Club of Myall Coast recently held their Annual Debating Competition.
The competition is held each year between the Debating Teams of Tea Gardens Primary School and Bulahdelah Central Primary School.

This year it took place at the Tea Gardens Hotel with an audience of over 50 supporters.
The debate’s topic was “Homework Should be Abolished” and was hotly debated between Tea Gardens for the affirmative and Bulahdelah for the negative.
Established as an annual event some eight years ago, it was originally between the Tea Gardens Primary debating team and a team from the Rotary Club.
After being soundly thrashed every year, the Club bowed out and last year matched up teams from the two schools.
Bulahdelah was crowned last year by a very small margin so a very competitive atmosphere existed for this year’s debate.
After excellent arguments from both teams, Tea Gardens were nominated the winner for 2016 by this year’s very capable adjudicator, Narelle Hawkes.
Certificates and the perpetual trophy will be presented to the Tea Gardens Team at an upcoming school assembly.
