Safety concerns at Nambucca’s Seawall Coastal Protection Upgrade Project site

NAMBUCCA Valley Council is concerned for the safety of members of the public who continue to disregard chain mesh fencing and signage installed at the Seawall Coastal Protection Upgrade Project on Main Beach, Nambucca Heads.

Council say it has become evident that members of the public have been breaking through barricades and entering the closed beach.

Safety concerns arise due to people walking through the construction area which presents exposed hazards and children playing on top of the large sand mounds located within the construction zone on the closed beach.

These sand mounds are at risk of collapse due to being undermined by wave action which presents life threatening safety risks.

Council urges the public to adhere to the restricted access and stay away from the closed beach.
