The exhibition of these local emerging artists showcases painting and print media, sculpture and installation as well as video/performance art, in one cohesive space of artistic expression.

Jasmine Winter, who teaches the youth art classes at Sawtell Gallery, and runs the gallery’s social media, told News Of The Area, “The sheer delight of the audience, able to wander in a gallery again, is tangible.

“Each person is able to immerse themselves in the artist’s world.

“The uncertainty of knowing whether their pieces would be seen in a gallery setting clarified the intent to bring out the absolute best in this group of artists.

“The artworks interrogate what it means to be human in these challenging times.

“From miniature worlds and looking at the experience of our ancient ancestors as their environment changed, to insight on contemporary issues and the way we see the world, the exhibition marks out what it means for us to be human in these times.

“We are in a unique moment.

“Fresh from these last months of hibernation from cultural events, each of us can return to the gift of sharing our company, our imagination and our collective appreciation of what it means to connect once again.

“We encourage everyone to spend time with these artworks and talk with the rostered artists in the gallery setting.”

All the works are for sale.

“The Convergence Exhibition, on until 7 November, brings these works of contemporary art to our beautiful Mid North Coast region in celebration of this moment,” said Jasmine.
