“Students and staff have already started to embed digital technologies into the curriculum,” Principal Mark Clemson said, “It’s not just about sitting in a room playing on a computer, it is so much more than that, Digital Technology is about changing the world.”

Principal Clemson said, “The study of digital technology, which includes design and computational thinking, in our classrooms at Tea Gardens ensures that our students move from being users of technology, produced elsewhere, to becoming world leaders in developing new technological innovations and solutions.’’

Helping the students to embrace the world of digital technology was visiting Curriculum Officer, Dr Shane Byrne.

“It was great to see the students engaged and collaborating in both plugged (with computers) and unplugged (without computer activities).”

Dr Byrne told News Of The Area, “The teachers have really embraced the new Digital Technologies curriculum and are finding ways to implement it authentically in their classrooms.”

“It was great to have Dr Shane Byrne from Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority visit our school and help us continue on our journey,” Mark Clemson said.

All the pupils agreed their looking forward to where the digital world will take them.
