
Tea Gardens Women’s Bowling Club

LAST week was a very busy week for the lady bowlers.
Social bowls on Tuesday, the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday and our Versatility Day, sponsored by Pelican Pest Control, played on the Thursday.
On Tuesday the format for social bowls was three games of Triples and a game of three bowls Pairs.
Kerry Faber and Lorraine Harvey had a convincing win over Karen Green and Kayelene Pearson 20 v 8.
Bette Saillard played “swinger” lead for both teams on Rink 2.
Bette obviously was a winner, for the team comprising of Bev Rhodes and Elizabeth Kelly with a score of 22, defeating Sheril Johnson and Carol Hayden 12.
Francis Betar, Bev Stephens and Loretta Baker held a strong lead in their match against Ingrid Luck, Olive McKeown and Lynne Green, Loretta’s team winning by 19 shots.
A much closer contest on Rink 4 between Lily Smith, Deyonne Page and Dale Winter 17 v Jill McBride, Robyn Webster and Karen McPhie 13.
The win was granted for a win plus ends and then margins as two teams tied.
The winners were Francis Betar, Bev Stephens and Loretta Baker.
Thursday 6 July: Versatility Day, first a massive thank you to Pelican Pest Control for sponsoring this annual event, your generosity to the Women’s Bowling Club is very much appreciated.
Six teams of four bowlers.
Games played, Singles, Triples, Pairs and Fours.
Prize money awarded to teams coming third, second and first.
Following play, all retired to the clubhouse for a delicious lunch and presentation of the prizes.
