Medowie will have its own celebration for our young people, with a Street Art and Music Workshop event being held on Sunday 22 April 10am – 2pm at Medowie Skatepark.

This will be a completely free activity for the community, with young people encouraged to come along and learn how to spray paint and create your own artwork.

The workshop will also feature an introduction to record scratching and beat matching.

Free food & drink will be provided on the day by the Medowie Lions Club.

Jamie Brewster, one of the event organisers, told News Of The Area, “Come along and celebrate Youth Week 2018 at Medowie Skatepark.”

“This is a free event that includes something for everyone.”

“The event is being run by UP&UP, a Newcastle based organisation that works to engage young people and the wider community in creative arts projects, with the aim of promoting self-expression, well-being and more inclusive communities,” he said.

The workshops will be run by youth workers, professional street artists and a Newcastle DJ.

The Youth Week 2018 theme of “Unity through Diversity” will be celebrated throughout the event by young people and the wider community.

Everyone is welcome. Come along for a fun enjoyable day.
