Director Anne Joyce is working collaboratively with the cast during the rehearsal process.

This level of collaboration gives the unique range of characters absolute authenticity; there’s a neighbour who moves away, a forgotten cousin, and a character who had a very strange encounter on a local headland.

“I’m chuffed that the Wyz Wimmin Theatre Company is able to provide the opportunity for local playwrights to bring their scripts to the stage,” said producer/playwright Caz Rhodes.

“In general terms writers in regional areas have to work harder than their city counterparts to learn, and to gain recognition,” she said.

The Wyz Wimmin suggested a dinner theatre to venue management and committees.

All tickets are $35 and not only does that include a meal followed by live theatre, a four-piece band will be entertaining audiences during dinner/lunch.

“I consider myself lucky to be part of a team of actors, directors, crew, and writers that are committed to excellence.
“It is so exciting to be part of that,” said Caz.

Saturday 22 October will be Opening night at the Utungun Hall with food served by the good people of Utungun.

On Sunday 30 October, the cooks at South Arm Hall will be presenting their culinary skills to the audience by serving lunch prior to a matinee performance.

On Saturday evening, 5 November, Nambucca Heads Bowling and Recreation Club will be serving dinner prior to the show.

Because all performances are catered, there won’t be any door sales, so make sure you get your tickets early, especially if you plan on seeing the production in one of the halls as seating will be limited.

The Wyz Wimmin and Friends are all donating their time, and profits will benefit the Nambucca Valley community.
