Nambucca Valley Archery Club holds final scored badge shot event

The Nambucca Valley Archery Club held its final scored badge shot of the 2020/21 season last Wednesday.

ON Wednesday 27 October the Nambucca Valley Archery Club held its final scored badge shot of the 2020/21 season.

With another up and down season thanks to Covid lockdowns and changing restrictions to community sports, all the club’s archers, both junior and senior, should be applauded for maintaining their focus and commitment this year when stepping up to the archer’s line.

The monthly scored shoots are an opportunity for archers to improve their personal scores and earn the next badge in the points series from 20 points all the way to a potentially perfect round of 300 points.

The catch is that you can only earn each particular points badge once on each bow type so as you get into the higher scoring ranges consistency and focus become your biggest assets.

Congratulations to all archers who participated on Wednesday afternoon with strong scores recorded across the club.

Extra congratulations go to our badge recipients for this month Alyssa McKay for receiving her 20 badge on an unsighted recurve bow at 18 yards, Mark Farnsworth for receiving his 70 badge on an unsighted recurve bow at 18 yards and Rohan Shelton who received his 225 badge on a sighted compound bow at 18 yards.

For anyone interested in finding out more about the fun and challenging sport of archery feel free to contact the club via Facebook or Instagram.

Nambucca Valley Archery Club’s season usually runs from February through to November from 5pm at the Macksville Showgrounds on Wednesday afternoons.

Active kids vouchers are accepted and all coaches are fully accredited.
