SINCE commencing at the start of 2016, Overflow Care has helped over 67 percent of participants get back into work through their successful Job Club participation.

The Job Club is a free service to residents.

Participants are given guidance and assistance to develop a professional resume, sharpen their job application skills, know where to look for the right jobs and develop confidence at interviews.
Internet services are also available for job seekers to apply for positions and make enquiries.

Christina Jones, who helps run the Job Club, told News Of The Area, “It is successful because it is fun, we help people to understand how employers think and act and we help take the frustration and fear out of interacting with employers.”

Carl from Salamander Bay, who participated in Job Club and is now working in the kitchen of The Anchorage in Nelson Bay said, “I think if I didn’t come to Job Club it would have been much harder to get a job.”
