The usual Wednesday Nominated Triples drew 44 players to the competition.

Organisers arranged six games of Triples and four games of Pairs after a number of cancellations were received due to ill-health.

A beautiful day contributed to some fine bowls being played not the least being from the team of Lance Atkins, Pip Sullivan and Greg Pearson.

They took out first prize again and are certainly the team to beat each week.

They won both their games and won 19 of the 24 ends played.

I’m glad I was not on the receiving end of that!

Runners-up were Ron James, Barry Drayton and Ron Webster.

Great to see Ron back bowling again!

There are now six teams in the draw for the “Queen’s Kitchen” voucher.

Ken and Olive McKeown were too consistent for John Slater and Lily Smith. They won 15-10.

Henry Dallas and Bev Rhodes hung on to edge out Graham and Liz Kelly 18-13.

Greg and Kayelene Pearson were in dominant form defeating Kathie Rimmer and Peter Gurney 25-9.

Steve Jones and Wendy Brand needed an extra end to account for Karen and Ron Green 14-13.

Ron and Robyn Webster had a good win over Brian Emmett and Anne McKenzie 17-7.

Thanks are due to Umpire John Younghusband.

Thanks to Ron Webster for the cooking.

The skies cleared for another perfect day for the playing of the quarter-finals of the Club Mixed Pairs competition.

A couple of disastrous ends from Steve Jones and Wendy Brand put paid to their chances eventually going down 12-20 in their match against Greg and Kayelene Pearson.

Veterans Verlie Gray and Tom Parkinson earned a place in the semi-finals defeating Ken and Olive McKeown in a close match, 19-16.

Jill McBride and the wily Noel Jackson also had a close match against Bev Rhodes and Henry Dallas.
They won 19-16.

In the remaining game Col and Bette Saillard pulled-off a great win over Robyn and Ron Webster 22-13.

There will be no play next weekend because of Father’s Day with semi-finals matches being played the following Saturday and the Finals on Sunday.

These games deserve a good audience.
