But having notched up over 242 years of experience between them, Myall locals and good friends Peter McKay, Laurie Welsh and Barry Whiteman have every right to ‘willingly offer their opinions’ to others based on their time on the planet.

The trio recently gathered with friends at Tea Gardens’ Mumm’s Restaurant to celebrate Peter ‘the young ones’ 80th birthday.

The ‘terrific trio’ have been friends now from over 20 years, and admit they get up to mischief.

But you could never say that these men have spent their retirement sitting on the couch.

Peter McKay and Barry Whiteman were instrumental in getting RSL LifeCare involved in Peter Sinclair Gardens.

“Barry and I drove them mad until finally they accepted,” Peter told News Of The Area.

That was a decade ago, and the Aged Care Facility that started off as Myall Lodge can now house more than 60 residents.

It was a proud day for both Peter and Barry at the official opening of the new wing of Peter Sinclair Gardens.

“This new build is wonderful,” Peter said.

“It’s great that they [RSL LifeCare] kept their promise and delivered.”
