FIELDING 26 teams for the 2017 season, Tilligerry Football Club hopes to eclipse its five premiership wins of the previous season.

Club President Kris Sparks said that the club line-up covered ages from under six to an all age team.
“Women are well and truly into soccer and we now have five all girls sides as against two in 2016,” he said.
“On top of that, females can play in any of the traditionally boys’ teams. Selection is purely on merit, not gender.”
“We play on a Friday night, Saturdays and Sundays, the Sundays being given over to the girls,” he said.
Meanwhile club registrar John Eijkenboom said that he expected an additional 20 players to register.
“Our books are certainly not closed and all are welcome,” he said.
“We are all about family involvement and can’t get enough parents and carers to pitch in with setting up, packing up and serving in the canteen.”
“Getting involved creates a great sense of community and develops long lasting friendships. It also fosters much needed social contact.”
