Ten-year-old Medowie Christian School student Anjah Jedniuk wanted to do something that was extra special for children suffering from cancer.

She decided to grow her hair long for the sole purpose of having it chopped off and turned into wigs for young people who have lost their own hair during chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

Anjah has been growing and measuring her hair for months with a simple goal to help others in need, and to give them something just for them.

This week, she reached her goal and was able to book in for a very special hair cut.

Anjah’s hair plait measured in at 36cm, which has been donated to Variety Australia.

This charity uses donated hair to make wigs for young people battling cancer and illness.

A wig can cost a family thousands of dollars, so Anjah’s gift is a much needed donation for the charity.

A wig gives children who have lost their hair an all-important boost of confidence.

Anjah’s mother, Anita, told News Of The Area, “As parents we are very proud of Anjah’s selfless actions.”

“We are very grateful that she is part of a wonderful school and local community where kindness and supporting others is part of who we are.”

“We can’t wait to see what she works towards next,” she said.

Holly from Forever Hair and Beauty in Medowie donated her time and the cost of her cut to Variety Australia.
