Ms Jennifer Hollis, is a mature age local Port Stephens artist.

For the past twenty years Jennifer has worked with water colour paints.

This was not her original passion and in fact prior to a workshop in the nineties Jennifer believed that water colour paints where an easy option.

Ms Hollis told News Of The Area, “My belief about the median was dissolved and I found it challenging to work with water colours.”

“I like a good challenge and I’ve found water colour paints have their own charm,” said Ms Hollis

As a member of the Society for Artist in Newcastle Ms Hollis regularly meets with other like minded artists.

Ms Hollis said, “I enjoy working with social groups of artists, they are a lot of fun.”

It was on one of these very social events that Ms Hollis found a flyer for CStudio Art Gallery in Newcastle.

With nothing to lose Ms Hollis gave them a call and to her surprise was offered a place in their exhibitions.

The current exhibition is entitled ‘A Gathering of Creatives’ and features a number of artists including Ms Hollis.

Paintings of nature feature some very familiar sights including the Birubi Rocks, Hunter River near Morpeth and the breathtaking view of the Port Stephens autumn leaves turning.

Ms Hollis’s stunning watercolour paintings can be viewed at Cstudios Art Gallery, 738 Hunter St Newcastle West.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday until 19 January 2019.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to enjoy the beauty of water colour from a very talented Port Stephens artist.
