Chief organiser for Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club Incorporated, Juergen Seil, spoke of the clubs humble beginnings of 4 blokes interested in cars displaying 5 cars on the land that is now Windward Circuit in 2002.

Over thirteen years the Club has grown up with this year’s Motorfest attracting 319 vehicles representing 45 Car Clubs at Myall Park.

The Club boasts 40 members with 70 vehicles who meet on a monthly basis to share their love of cars and bikes with an agenda based on staging an event to generate funds for local beneficiaries, whilst attracting tourists to share our beautiful local area.

This year’s event enabled the club to give a total of $8,000 to three local groups made up of $3,500 to The Rural Fire Service, $3,500 to the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club and $1,000 for the Clinic Bus.

President Ross Anderson took over proceedings to hand over the cheques to the thankful representatives.

Captain Steve Carmichael received a cheque on behalf of Pindimar Tea Gardens Rural Fire Service and wished to thank the club for its tireless work for the community and this money helps keep the Service operating for our area by getting the little extra things we need for everyday operations.

Ian Dunlop accepted the cheque for the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Life Saving Club, “I want to thank all involved for working in a team event that benefits the community as a whole by helping us keep the beach safe for everyone locals and visitors.”

Committee member John Adams said, “The assistance from these monies help to keep the Clinic Bus a free service for our local community and we thank Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club wholeheartedly.”

Juergen added, “We have over 70 sponsors who donated everything from vouchers and gifts to cash and cheques. Without them this event would not go ahead. Thank you to each of you and to everyone who chipped in to help in this team event.”

Congratulations on a super event and your tremendous support of our local community.  It’s events and comradery like this that make our area so wonderful to live in, ‘THANK YOU’.
